Hades is the lord of the Underworld, which sometimes bears the same name. He is usually depicted as the more youthful of the three brothers (Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades). He is not only the lord of the Underworld, but the god of gems and jewels, due to the fact that they come from the earth.
There are several myths involving this dark figure. The most famous myth is that of the kidnapping of Persephone, the daughter of Demeter.
